Carol Oates came into the
world on Christmas morning, in an elevator. Raised just across the
street from the childhood home of Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, it was
only a matter of time before Carol’s love of all things supernatural
would emerge.
She began experimenting with fiction at school and
keeps the notebook containing her first unpublished novel in her desk
drawer. Over three decades later, all her stories still begin life
scrawled on paper.
When not writing, Carol can be found exploring
history, old buildings,
castles, and tombs.

Reviews
"Ember is dynamite! That's how I felt after reading this book—like I've been sitting
on a keg of dynamite for the last two days, and Carol Oates just blew me away."
-- Debbie (at) I Heart YA Reviews
"Shades of Atlantis has shades of brilliance. Carol Oates has created a compelling magical
world which I entered too briefly and left too soon. It left me lost in contemplation."
-- Girls Just Reading
"This story is so beautiful and emotional. I am hand flapping right now because I'm afraid
of giving away too much! Carol's writing is so beautiful and flowing that you feel like
you are there ..."
The Summer Prince from Summer Breeze -- Miss Mandy
"My. Heart. Iridescent almost killed me! This books was so intense, emotionally and physically, that I could hardly keep up."
-- The Bookish Babes
"This New Adult horror novella UNMADE by Carol Oates is short and unsweet. A savory mix between Ray Bradbury and Stephen King."
